During this excursion we’ll visit ancient structures used for sports games. On the territory of the archaeological museum there is a great number of temples, a stadium, stands, dwelling and guest houses, treasuries and a hippodrome where chariot races were held.
In the course of our excursion, we’ll go to the birthplace of the Mycenaean civilization, one of the most ancient ones in all Greece and in Europe. These places are attractive not only due to the ancient sights but also to the natural beauty. Mythology, history and archaeology lovers will enjoy the tour across this region and take home a bundle of positive emotions and memories.
Our first stop will be in ancient Mycenae with the famous Lion Gate standing sentinel at the entry. You will be amazed by sizes of the remains. Not far from the town the Treasury of Atreus, the largest one in Mycenae, is located.
Then we’ll head to romantic and impossibly beautiful Nafplion, the first capital of independent Greece. You will be astonished by the town’s architecture, narrow pedestrian streets with a lot of pretty, interesting shops. Off the town, amid the sky-blue Aegean sea, Bourtzi prison-palace stands. Another important sight of the town is the fortress, Palamidi, built by the Venetians in 1687.
Optionally this excursion may include swimming at the equipped beach at the exit of the town.
